Thundermin and Cornerstone File NI 43-101 Technical Report on SEDAR in Support of the Little Deer Mineral Resource Estimate

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2009) - Thundermin Resources Inc. ("Thundermin") (TSX:THR) and 50% joint venture partner Cornerstone Resources Inc. ("Cornerstone") (TSX VENTURE:CGP) announce that a National Instrument 43-101 ("NI 43-101") Technical Report, to support the mineral resource estimate for the Little Deer Copper Deposit ("Deposit") that was announced on July 7, 2009, has been filed on SEDAR and posted on each company's respective website.

The Mineral Resource Estimate and the Technical Report entitled "Technical Report on the Initial Mineral Resource Estimate for the Little Deer Copper Deposit, Newfoundland, Canada, August 14, 2009" were prepared by Mr. Reno Pressacco, M.Sc.(A), P.Geo., Senior Geologist with Micon International Limited ("Micon") of Toronto, Ontario and an independent Qualified Person ("QP") in accordance with NI 43-101.

As reported on July 7, 2009, Micon estimated that the Deposit contains Inferred Resources of 1,087,000 tonnes at an average grade of 2.9% Cu and Inferred Resources of 1,950,000 tonnes at an average grade of 2.3% Cu.

The Little Deer copper property is located approximately 10 km north of Springdale in north-central Newfoundland. To date, the Deposit has been outlined to varying degrees of detail over a strike length of approximately 1,050 m and to a vertical depth of approximately 895 m. The Deposit remains open to the east, west and at depth and the potential for discovery of additional mineral resources is believed to be high.

A $900,000 diamond drilling program, announced on February 25, 2009 for the first half of 2009, was completed at the end of July 2009. Four holes from this program, which were not included in the Mineral Resource Report, have been completed and the results for these holes will be announced once all of the assay data has been received and analyzed.

It is anticipated that the next diamond drilling program on the Deposit will commence in September 2009. This program will be designed to expand on the mineral resources discovered to date and to upgrade the Inferred Resources to the Indicated Resource category. The details of this program will be announced once it has been finalized.
