Thuuz Ensures Sports Fans Will Never Miss a Minute of Excitement

Brand New Service Quantifies In-Game Excitement to Alert Users About the Best Games to Watch

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - September 10, 2010) -  A free online service called Thuuz launches today to help sports enthusiasts track the excitement levels of games in real-time and make sure they never miss out on the action of the most exciting games of the day.

Thuuz alerts sports fans to the most exciting games and matches, so that they can be thoroughly entertained by the best that sports has to offer. With the tremendous growth in the selection of real-time and time-shifted sports content, a service like Thuuz is a perfect way to keep informed of the most riveting action of the day, without having any of the excitement spoiled by learning scores or game details.

Thuuz knows which games to watch and when it's the best time to start watching them. Fans are alerted via text, email or on Thuuz's website so they can experience all the suspense and excitement of the best sports action of the day, rather than simply watching what's on at the moment.

Thuuz was initially tested earlier this year during the NCAA basketball and World Cup soccer tournaments and launches officially in conjunction with the beginning of the NFL and NCAA football seasons. Thuuz will soon also be covering the Major League Baseball playoffs, the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League, and men's and women's college basketball seasons in addition to others sports.

"Excitement is the key to sports, because it gets at the heart of why people watch: entertainment and enjoyment," said Thuuz co-founder and CEO Warren Packard. "Technology is enabling so many things for sports fans, from having advanced stats available in real-time, to the ability to broadcast countless games at once. There is a wealth of information available about what happens during games, but not about why fans should care. Thuuz changes that by identifying when and why sports are at their best, so it's easy for enthusiasts to watch the best games from the moment the action heats up or from the very beginning of play."

Thuuz processes streams of play-by-play data from every game in progress using a set of proprietary game excitement algorithms that ensure objectivity and consistency. The output of the algorithms is a continuous flow of ratings over the course of each game, on a 0 - 100 scale, which clearly show when (and if) a game becomes exciting.

Individuals who create a free account at can sign up for real time email and text alerts that inform users of the most exciting games of each day and when each of these games becomes exciting. No other information about the games is communicated, so as to let each individual experience all the excitement of the games for themselves.

Note for journalists and bloggers: During the season Thuuz will be releasing data measuring the excitement levels of particular games and teams. There is also data available from the 2009-10 NFL and NCAA seasons comparing teams, divisions and conferences, and ranking the best games of the year.
