TIBCO Named a Worldwide Leader in IDC MarketScape for Business Process Platforms

TIBCO Is Only Leader Also Classified as a "Disruptive Innovator" for Demonstrating Innovation and Leadership in Process Automation

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - May 13, 2014) - TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) today announced that IDC has named TIBCO a leader in the new IDC MarketScape for Business Process Platforms (BPP) 2014 Vendor Assessment, as well as a disruptive innovator in process automation.

Following an extensive evaluation of 22 vendors, only 10 were selected to participate in the MarketScape for Business Process Platforms. The research study focuses on sophisticated offerings that address enterprise-level strategic and transformational process improvement as well as departmental innovation initiatives.

TIBCO was recognized to be a leader because of strong scores across all 13 categories evaluated and, as the report states, because of: "TIBCO's end-to-end focus on event-driven BPM, particularly the ability to use ActiveMatrix® BPM to dynamically render a user interface, its support of case management style applications, and its integration with its rules-oriented, event processing software to provide highly scalable real-time, decision-centric automation."

"Being named a leader, as well as a disruptive innovator in the IDC MarketScape for Business Process Platforms, affirms our vision and strategy for TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM and its compelling role within the TIBCO platform," said Inderjeet Singh, senior vice president and general manager, products and technology, TIBCO. "We believe that event-driven processes and fast data are necessary to drive innovation in business operations and bring along the transformational power of delivering insight into what's happening right now."

Based on IDC's evaluation, customer praise, and partner feedback, TIBCO's position as a leader and disruptive innovator was attributed to the following:

  • Rich application-style user interface with pageflows for both PC and mobile applications.
  • Organizational model and work management.
  • Event-driven orientation from backend to front end.
  • Use of TIBCO Nimbus™ to provide help and guidance at runtime when users don't understand what they should do in a particular task or activity.
