Ticket Demand Grows as CONCACAF Gold Cup Reaches Quarterfinal Round

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwired - Jul 18, 2015) - After completing the group stage, the CONCACAF Gold Cup is down to just eight teams vying to be crowned champion. As the stakes grow for the teams and players, fan interest and ticket demand has also seen an increase for the remaining rounds of the tournament.

Sunday's quarterfinal doubleheader featuring Trinidad & Tobago vs. Panama and Mexico vs. Costa Rica, set to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, has sold more tickets than any other event on the CONCACAF schedule on the marketplace. That includes a staggering difference of 421%* more tickets sold than its quarterfinal counterpart, which will be played in Baltimore, MD, on Saturday.

The difference can largely be attributed to location and teams. With Sunday's quarterfinal being held in the New York area, it represents the largest sports market in the U.S. with a high density of soccer fans from many countries. In addition, the event features the Mexican National Soccer Team, which has continually been the top-selling national team on the marketplace throughout 2015.

The winners from this weekend's games will meet in the semifinal doubleheader, which will be played at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA, on Wednesday, July 22. Currently the event has an average ticket-selling price of $104, with a get-in price of $40. The CONCACAF Final is scheduled for next Sunday in Philadelphia, PA, and currently has an average ticket-selling price of $133 and a get-in price of $40.
