TicketLiquidator's Ticket of the Week: Conan O'Brien Tickets

VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - March 11, 2010) -  TicketLiquidator, the leading provider of the world's most extensive ticket inventory of hard-to-find, low-priced tickets, today announced that it now offers Conan O'Brien tickets to his "The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour" at great prices. The Conan O'Brien tour will begin in Eugene, OR at the Hult Center For the Performing Arts on April 12, 2010.

Conan, who has been quite active on his Twitter account since his "Tonight Show" gig ended, stated on March 11, "Hey Internet: I'm headed to your town on a half-assed comedy & music tour." Thirty dates have been released for what is being billed on the official tour web site as, "a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence." Conan will also make a stop at Bonnaroo Festival (tickets) in June to headline the comedy tent and MC the main stage.

The former Tonight Show host, who grew up in a large Irish family in Brookline, MA, graduated from Harvard University having served as writer for the Harvard Lampoon comedy magazine. After a brief period performing with the famous LA-based improv group "The Groundlings," Conan would become an Emmy Award-winning writer for "Saturday Night Live" and later, "The Simpsons." In 1993 he replaced David Letterman on "Late Night" hosting A-list stars and music groups like U2 (tickets), Samuel L. Jackson, Johnny Cash, Will Ferrell and John Mayer (tickets). The show would go on to receive an Emmy for Best Writing in A Comedy or Variety Series in 2007 and five Writers Guild Awards for Best writing in a Comedy/ Variety Series.

"The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" premiered in June 2009. The short-lived show was quickly canned for Jay Leno, who was reportedly unhappy with his earlier timeslot according to the New York Post. The conflict with NBC received a large amount of media coverage and was hotly debated by diehard fans.

"Fans who campaigned to keep Conan on The Tonight Show can finally get their fix this spring," stated Alexandra Owens, Media Relations, TicketLiquidator. "Conan is hitting the road for an unprecedented stretch of comedy, we expect tickets to sell out quickly."

The Conan tour was initially slated for a single date at Radio City Music Hall in New York, but the demand for tickets, according to MSG entertainment, was so high that the tour exploded into a thirty date revue through June 2010. As one of the most unexpected comedy tours of the year, Conan O'Brien tickets are the the TicketLiquidator Ticket of the Week.
