TicketLiquidator's Ticket of the Week: Mayweather vs. Marquez & the UFC 103

VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - September 15, 2009) - TicketLiquidator, the leading provider of the world's most extensive ticket inventory for hard-to-find, low priced tickets, today announced that it provides tickets to two of the most popular boxing and mixed martial arts matchups of 2009, both which are scheduled for September 19th. The Floyd Mayweather vs. Juan Manuel Marquez matchup is scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and the American Airlines Center in Dallas will host the UFC 103.

With the original date for the Mayweather vs. Marquez match postponed due to a Mayweather rib injury, excitement for this bout has been building for months and there has been tremendous demand for Mayweather Marquez tickets. Boxing fans are eager to see how sharp Mayweather is after almost two-years on hiatus. Floyd "Money" Mayweather is undefeated as a pro boxer with a 39-0 record and has won six World Boxing Championships prior to his retirement. His opponent, Juan "Dinamita" Márquez is the current WBA and WBO Lightweight world champion who has garnered belts in three different weight classes. This will be Marquez's first fight in the welterweight division after moving up from the lightweight class. His last opponent was IBO champion Juan Diaz, who Marquez knocked out in the ninth round in February 2009.

While the Mayweather Marquez fight will generate plenty of interest, boxing fans will also closely watch the results of the UFC 103. The UFC has arguably overtaken boxing in terms of popularity and the buzz surrounding the event and subsequent demand for UFC tickets lends plenty of credence to that argument. The UFC 103, which is headlined by Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfort, will feature bone-crushing UFC action when the former middleweight king takes on a previous UFC light heavyweight champ title holder.

It's going to be quite a weekend for boxing and mixed martial arts fans with two of the sports' biggest events of the year taking place simultaneously. Tickets for the Mayweather vs. Marquez heavyweight fight and the UFC 103 share top billing as TicketLiquidator's "Ticket of the Week."
