TicketLiquidator's Ticket of the Week: Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers

VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - October 26, 2009) - TicketLiquidator, the leading provider of the world's most extensive ticket inventory for hard-to-find, low priced tickets, today announced that tickets are available for the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Green Bay Packers game on Sunday, November 1st at Lambeau Field.

The much-anticipated matchup features the return of Brett Favre to Green Bay, the city where he played for fifteen years and built a reputation as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. This will be the first time and likely the last time Favre will return to Lambeau Field as an opponent. As one of the most talked-about games of the year, Vikings Packers tickets have become some of the most sought-after NFL tickets of the season.

"With so much attention focused on the Vikings vs. Packers game, this matchup is expected to be one of the most exciting of the year," said Alexandra Owens, Managing Editor, TicketLiquidator. "Green Bay boasts one of the NFL's most allegiant fan bases. With Favre returning to Green Bay as an opponent, the loyalties of long time Green Bay fans will be tested," added Owens.

In his 15-year career at Green Bay, Favre endeared himself to fans with his gritty style of play that resonated with Packers followers. He was a key part of the roster during every Green Bay game beginning in 1992 up until his first retirement in 2008. With Favre at the helm, the Packers won seven NFC North division championships, played in four NFC Championship Games, appeared in the Super Bowl twice and won the NFL's most coveted title in 1997. Favre is also the only player to be named the Associated Press Most Valuable Player for three consecutive years from 1995 to 1997.

Favre announced his first retirement in March 2008 and the Packers subsequently named Aaron Rodgers as his replacement. When Favre determined that his retirement was premature, the Packers were reluctant to allow him to return as a starting quarterback. After much-publicized wrangling, Favre was traded to the New York Jets and retired again the following season. In the spring of 2009, rumors of another possible Favre comeback began swirling, and on August 18th it was announced that Favre would sign with the Minnesota Vikings, a long-time Packers rival.

With Favre as the starting quarterback and Adrian Peterson positioned as running back, the Vikings are considered to be one the best teams in the NFL, currently leading the NFC North with a winning record. However, Green Bay could contend with the Vikings for the NFC North crown. With a high level of national and local interest in this competition, the Vikings vs. Packers game is TicketLiquidator's Ticket of the Week.
