TicketNetwork Advisory -- New Broadway Shows Announced for This Fall

VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - July 7, 2010) -  There are certain staples on Broadway, shows that have been running for years and will continue to play indefinitely. For instance, Phantom of the Opera has been around since 1988 and is still consistently one of the top grossing shows. But every fall, a new crop of shows is launched, each hoping to become one of those staples.

Several shows were recently announced for the 2010-2011 season. One is a Broadway veteran: Time Stands Still, starring Laura Linney and Brian d'Arcy James, is returning to the Great White Way in September after running for two months last winter. Other shows are new to the scene but include stars who are not; David Hyde Pierce returns to the stage in La Bete, a play about a princess, a street clown and a classic dramatist, and Driving Miss Daisy stars James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave, two of Broadway's heavy hitters.

A list of shows announced so far is below, with current average ticket prices on the TicketNetwork exchange.
