TicketNetwork Applauds BBB's Decision to Change Business Grading System

Grade Bumps for Fee-Paying Members Is to Be Abandoned

VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - November 18, 2010) - TicketNetwork, the leading online ticket exchange for events and innovative technology solutions provider for both ticket buyers and sellers, today announced that it commends the Better Business Bureau's decision to cease giving grade increases to businesses as a result of paying accreditation fees to the BBB. The existing grading system automatically provided a one or two-step grade bump to paying 'accredited' member companies.

TicketNetwork filed suit in September against the Connecticut BBB seeking a court order to compel that change or, alternatively, to have the Connecticut BBB add to its website a clear and conspicuous disclosure of its conflict of interest and the resulting impact on fee-paying businesses' grades. TicketNetwork felt that this deceptive and improper practice harmed not only itself but all consumers and businesses across the state and nationwide. The trial in TicketNetwork's lawsuit was conducted on November 4 and the parties' post-trial briefs are due November 19th

"We are pleased that the Connecticut Better Business Bureau and its national umbrella organization has acknowledged this problem and is prepared to take the necessary steps to adjust its grading system accordingly," said Donald Vaccaro, CEO TicketNetwork. "That said, this change should have come without the need for a lawsuit by TicketNetwork and an investigation by the Connecticut Attorney General." Last Friday, the Attorney General gave the Connecticut BBB a deadline of fifteen days to respond to his demand that this grading practice be changed.

TicketNetwork is represented in its lawsuit against the Connecticut BBB by Edward J. Heath of Robinson & Cole LLP. More detail about the suit can be found at the following site: http://civilinquiry.jud.ct.gov/CaseDetail/PublicCaseDetail.aspx?DocketNo=TTDCV105005433S
