Attention: Business/Financial Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor, Photo Editor, Sports Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 27, 2005) - Looking relaxed in shorts, Tiger Woods hit powerful shots and dispensed one-liners with equal ease for guests at the Tiger Woods Invitational that raised a total of Cdn$350,000 for his foundation and junior golf in Canada on Monday.

Under blue skies, the world's No. 1 ranked player put on a clinic and played 18 holes at Magna Golf Club during the private fundraising event presented by Nike Golf Canada.

Woods said he was proud that event raised $350,000 for the Tiger Woods Foundation that supports community-based programs that promote the health, welfare and education of children, and for junior golf initiatives supported by Nike Golf Canada.

"We had a fantastic time on this wonderful course. It's events like these that allow us to make a difference for kids to help develop the leaders of tomorrow. This will go a long way to continuing that important work, " Woods told 72 invited guests that included his corporate sponsors TAG Heuer, General Motors and American Express.

During an hour-long clinic on the range, the winner of nine major championships including the 2005 Masters demonstrated various shots, answered questions from guests, and told stories about some of his greatest championship matches.

The event was captured by TSN for a special one-hour special broadcast on Monday night at 7 p.m. EDT.

"We are beyond thrilled to have brought Tiger to Canada," said Vitalis Gomes, Marketing Manager of Nike Golf Canada. "We've been working to make this once-in-a-lifetime event a reality for more than four years, and it's very exciting to see it come together."

"We're very pleased that the event raised significant funds for the Tiger Woods Foundation and junior golf in Canada," Gomes said.

"We are proud to have provided an intimate gathering for Tiger with the guests who enjoyed his candidness about his play this year and in past championships, lessons learned as he developed his career, and changes that he has made to his swing.

"The Tiger Woods Invitational is the biggest event in the young history of Nike Golf Canada, and it underscores the growth and success that we've enjoyed in Canada thanks to the professionalism and passion of our great team," Gomes said.
