Tilera Is the Start-Up to Watch

Tilera Chosen by GSA as the Company With the Highest Potential to Positively Change the Semiconductor Industry

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - December 12, 2008) - Tilera® Corporation, developer of the breakthrough TILE™ family of high-performance processors for the embedded market, today announced that the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) named the company as the Start-Up to Watch. The winner of this award is selected by the GSA Venture Capital Advisory Board and established serial entrepreneurs. GSA recognized Tilera for its breakthrough multicore technology, customers' traction, execution, and revenue outlook.

Tilera develops processors for networking, multimedia, and wireless infrastructure equipment markets. The tile processors replace other processors, FPGAs, DSPs, and ASICs, providing customers the performance they need and the power budget they want in a standard Linux and C/C++ programming environment. After one year of product availability Tilera is now engaged with over 45 customers and has more than 15 design wins; unheard of for a startup company in these markets.

"Our technology is revolutionizing the industry. Customers are amazed by our high performance, low power, and the short time it takes to get their full applications running at performance. On top of that, they are reducing their BoM cost by up to 50%," said Troy Bailey, V.P. of Marketing, Tilera Corporation. "We deliver value that they can see in their top and bottom line. This is the true promise of multicore and this award is a testament to our delivering on that promise."

The Tilera architecture is the only commercial architecture that is scalable to hundreds of cores, providing the industry with continuous performance scalability for years to come. With a strong roadmap of high performance, low power, and integrated processors, Tilera will continue to raise the bar of multicore processors and provide more value for the embedded market.

"GSA's VC Advisory Council has selected Tilera Corporation as this year's winner of the Start-Up to Watch Award," said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of GSA. "We acknowledge the achievements of this company with this award and wish Tilera Corporation continued success."
