Tim Allen to Narrate Fulldome Show for the Google Lunar XPRIZE

Premiering in November, Renowned Actor Launches Audiences Back To The Moon For Good

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 21, 2013) - Award-winning actor Tim Allen is teaming up with XPRIZE to narrate Back To The Moon For Good, an exciting, educational fulldome show debuting this November at more than 80 planetariums around the world. The 25-minute digital film highlights the history of exploring the moon and provides an insider's look at the teams vying for the $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE, the largest incentivized prize in history.

Back To The Moon For Good begins with a tour through the history of lunar exploration, tracing back to the 1960s and 1970s. Hear from some of the teams racing to land a robotic spacecraft on the moon and vying to win the Google Lunar XPRIZE. The audience is taken on a successful launch, landing and tour of the lunar surface. The show ends with an enticing visualization of a future settlement on the moon.

The stunning visuals and compelling narrative of the show explain the importance of the Google Lunar XPRIZE in encouraging today's space entrepreneurs and innovators to collaborate toward building a new space economy, while inspiring the next generation to "shoot for the moon."

"Although the benefits of going back to the moon are well-known within the space community, the mission of this film -- and the Google Lunar XPRIZE -- is to re-ignite an interest in space exploration amongst people of all ages," said Robert K. Weiss, film veteran and vice chairman and president of XPRIZE. "As such, we needed a narrator who is recognizable, accessible and resonates with all audiences. Tim Allen's illustrious career and persona make him the best fit to take our message 'to infinity and beyond.'"

The show was executive produced by Weiss and Alexandra Hall, produced by NSC Creative, an award-winning computer animation studio, and written by Ryan Wyatt.
