Western International University Enhances Student and Faculty Service with Intuitive LMS

Western International University (WIU), provider of innovative quality degree programs to working adults, recently upgraded to Timecruiser's CourseCruiser LMS to deliver a higher quality interactive online learning experience to students and faculty. With this streamlined, pedagogically-flexible system, the learning styles of today's active learners are supported through instructor-created learning paths that may include content, multimedia, and team project-based activities. The upgraded functionality includes advanced student tracking reporting which empowers academic faculty with easier access to more relevant student data, enabling them to better serve students, as well as identify and help students that may be struggling -- resulting in greater student retention.

"Timecruiser's on-demand communication, collaboration, and learning applications are a perfect fit for our culture and members of the campus community use the applications in innovative ways," said Scott Wiegand, Associate Director of University Technology. "We completed the implementation to our constituents without interruption, providing new functionality without the pain typically associated with an IT upgrade. In fact, students and faculty have quickly adopted the new LMS with little or no training aside from the built-in video tutorials."

Tarrant County College Implements CruiserAlert to Augment Communications Service

Tarrant County College, serving the citizens of Tarrant County, Texas at four major campuses, recently added Timecruiser's CruiserAlert notification service to better meet the dynamic communication needs of its geographically dispersed constituency. The deployment of CruiserAlert will dramatically increase the scale and speed of high priority communications and enable Tarrant to rapidly reach over 35,000 individuals from a single console.

When Tarrant faces an emergency, whether a power outage or traffic accident, it is now able to act quickly and put the right information in the hands of the people impacted regardless of where they are.

"One of the most important aspects of a technology partnership is that the vendor is directed at meeting our individual institutional challenges," said Maria Shelton, CIO of TCC. "Based on our rewarding history with Timecruiser, we knew we could rely on them to deliver an alert system that helps us achieve a very high rate of student and personnel notification."
