Tintina Mines Limited Provides Corporate Update

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 22, 2006) - Tintina Mines Limited (TSX VENTURE:TTS) announces that it has completed its geotechnical testing program associated with the Red Mountain Project in Yukon for 2006. This work has included conducting soil and aggregate survey of over 60 kilometers of the proposed access route to the deposit site from the South Canol Highway, commonly referred to as the "Amoco route". This work has resulted in the completion of a preliminary haul road design, and the identification and suitability of aggregates for road and construction purposes. Final road design work will now need to be completed prior to any application for permitting for the construction of an all weather road.

In addition, extensive environmental assessment studies have been completed on the site and the surrounding region. These include wildlife surveys, archaeological investigations, an avalanche investigation, climate monitoring, and water monitoring. Geotechnical studies including site hydrology, geology, investigations for infrastructure location and suitability, are also near completion. These have significantly advanced Tintina's ability to permit for a proposed underground exploration and prefeasibility project.

Tintina Mines Limited has temporarily suspended geotechnical testing and environmental assessment activities at the Red Mountain Project due to winter weather conditions. Tintina is examining development options and will be conducting an extensive review and evaluation of these options in the near future, prior to reactivating geotechnical site and road investigations.

A further news release will be issued regarding the project once the company has completed its internal review of findings to date.

The TSX Venture Exchange has not reviewed, and does not accept responsibility, for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
