Tintri Announces Global Expansion, Commences Operations in EMEA and APAC Markets

Citing Strong Domestic Growth and Increasing International Interest, Company Announces International Channel Partner Program and Appoints Industry Veteran Marcus Chambers as VP of EMEA Operations

LONDON--(Marketwire - Aug 23, 2011) - Tintri, Inc., the leading producer of VM-aware storage appliances, today announced its formal expansion into the EMEA and APAC markets. The company has appointed Marcus Chambers, formerly of Riverbed Technology and Cisco Systems, as vice president of EMEA-APAC Operations. The company also announced formal partnerships with Zycko, an international value-add distributor of leading edge IT solutions, and NOX, the leading Japanese storage reseller. The announcement comes on the heels of the Tintri's closing an $18M Series C funding round in June 2011, as well as the company's March 2011 launch.

Chambers will oversee Tintri's sales and marketing operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Previously, he served as vice president of EMEA for Riverbed Technologies, where he helped take their EMEA revenue from $3M per annum to $150M per annum in six years. Prior to Riverbed, Chambers served as operations director for Cisco Systems EMEA's Storage, Optical and Wide Area Files Services (WAAS) Group. He has also held senior positions at Brocade, EMC and 3COM.

Tintri has also announced formal channel partnerships with United Kingdom-headquartered Zycko, who have offices and sales in 16 countries across EMEA, and Japan-based NOX. Zycko will integrate Tintri VMstore into its suite of leading-edge IT products and provide support to sales operations in the EMEA market. Tintri will also be employing an EMEA-based high-touch sales force to complement these efforts. Additionally, Tintri will work with NOX to introduce Tintri VMstore to the Japanese market -- which has been among the most aggressive adopters of virtualization technology over the past several years.

"It's been impressive to see the inordinate amount of attention Tintri has received since their March launch -- and also indicative of the market's readiness for a VM-aware storage appliance," said Marcus Chambers, Tintri VP of EMEA-APAC Operations. "There's a tremendous opportunity in expanding to the European market and I'm excited to be a part of that."

"The storage market is undergoing a radical transformation and Tintri has positioned themselves at the vanguard of next-generation solutions," said David Galton-Fenzi, Zycko Group Sales and Marketing Director. "There's a growing demand for VM-aware storage and they have the potential to make both an immediate and lasting impact in the European market."

"Virtualization adoption rates have seen a surge in the Japanese market, but disk performance issues have prevented wider deployments," said Keiichi Takai, Director of NOX. "Tintri offers a practical solution to this problem in the form of a VM-aware storage appliance. Tintri VMstore offers astoundingly high performance levels and we're excited to bring that value to our customers."

"Our stated mission of working with enterprises to overcome storage-centric pain points to broaden virtual deployments has been extremely well-received to date," said Kieran Harty, Tintri CEO. "While it was important for us to initially focus on fostering regional and national growth, we now see the potential to expand our operations to the EMEA market. Marcus Chambers has a proven track record in EMEA and we believe that both he and the Zycko team will be an integral part of our growth there and beyond."
