Tiny, Wearable iON SnapCam Lite Social Imaging Camera Debuts at Retail

Capture and Share Your One-of-a-Kind Perspective With Unique, New "Instant-On" Camera

MOORESTOWN, NJ--(Marketwired - Jul 28, 2015) - iON Cameras, the company that pioneered Shoot/Share™ wireless connectivity in point-of-view (POV) cameras, today announced retail availability of its SnapCam™ Lite wearable social imaging camera. Just 1.5 inches square and weighing a little more than one ounce, the new iON SnapCam Lite attaches directly onto clothing, hats, gear and backpacks via a sturdy clip or magnet and is always "on," making it a snap to shoot and share high-definition (HD) videos and five megapixel photos -- anywhere and anytime.

The first model available in iON Cameras' new line of miniature wearables, the SnapCam Lite comes with a suggested retail price of just $79.99 and is now available at Best Buy. The top-of-the-line iON SnapCam with wireless connectivity and live-streaming capability will be available later this summer.

Ready to capture the moment, whenever it occurs, SnapCam Lite's unique, always-on feature makes shooting stills or videos easier and quicker than a smartphone camera. A single press of the button on the SnapCam Lite captures a high-resolution image. Pressing and holding the button starts high-definition video recording at 720p/30-frames-per-second resolution. Pressing the button once more stops it from shooting. Videos and photos are saved directly to the micro-SD card, where they can be uploaded to a computer or smart device for saving and sharing.

"There are other small POV cameras on the market today, but none of those combine the SnapCam's tiny size and weight, clip-on wearability and operating simplicity at a price that everybody can afford," said iON Cameras CEO Giovanni Tomaselli. "Practically everyone today -- and certainly the younger generation -- wants to capture and share every special moment. The SnapCam Lite makes this possible."

With a single battery charge, SnapCam can shoot 3,000 photos in time-lapse mode, or record two hours of video, all with an incredible 5 days of stand-by time. SnapCam stores it all onto a Class 6 or above MicroSD card up to 32 gigabytes.
