Tira Wireless Appoints Juan Dewar as New SVP Sales

Former Sun Microsystems Executive Brings Extensive Mobile Market Experience to Global Sales Role

SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 4, 2006) - Tira Wireless, the premier provider of advanced technology for mobile content deployment, today announced the appointment of Juan Dewar to the role of senior vice president of sales. In this role, Dewar will be responsible for revenue growth and establishing and maintaining relationships with the world's leading mobile content publishers. Dewar takes over this role from Matt Golden, co-founder of Tira Wireless, who is now redirecting his focus as Tira's senior vice president of corporate development. In this role, Golden is responsible for leading Tira's corporate strategy, merger and acquisition activity, strategic partnerships and business development.

Dewar brings to his role at Tira an 18-year track record of delivering measurable success in the sales and marketing of software technologies, products and services to the telecommunications, mobile Internet, entertainment and consumer electronics industries. Prior to joining Tira, Dewar was vice president for media and entertainment, global industry sales at Sun Microsystems.

During his 10-year tenure at Sun Microsystems, Dewar held progressively senior positions in sales, business development and product marketing. In his most recent role, Dewar increased sales and market share for key product lines in the global media and entertainment industry segments. Prior to that he was one of the key software executives responsible for driving the adoption of the J2ME software platform, and establishing it as the dominant solution for gaming on wireless devices. Dewar joined Sun in 1997 through Sun's acquisition of DIBA - the company credited with inventing the 'information appliance' concept - where he was vice president of sales and business development.

Dewar began his career in a variety of global sales roles for technology and telecommunications companies, including Telecom Solutions, Digital Electronic Automation (acquired by Brown & Sharpe Inc.), and Vision Engineering. Dewar's global perspective on the technology and telecommunications market is a direct result of having lived or been responsible for developing markets in Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia. Dewar holds a Degree in Chemistry & Material Science from the University of Madrid in Spain.
