Titan Medical Inc. Announces Production of First SPORT(TM) Surgical System Workstation

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - December 02, 2015) - Titan Medical Inc. ("Titan" or the "Company") (TSX: TMD) (OTCQX: TITXF) today announced that it has built the initial SPORT™ Surgical System Workstation. Over the next few days, this initial Workstation will be integrated with an initial Patient Cart to form the first complete SPORT™ Surgical System. Independently and together as an integrated surgical system, these units will undergo extensive testing as a part of Engineering Verification (EV). Additional units will follow later in December and into the new year. The EV units and system will be tested to measure performance in relation to design specifications and to measure compliance with regulatory guidelines. These EV units are precursors of the units that will be built in early 2016 for first-in-human use.

Dennis Fowler, EVP, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, stated "This unit is the result of outstanding guidance by our surgeon advisors and brilliant implementation by our engineering and design teams. We believe this is a major advance in surgical technology."

John Hargrove, Chairman and CEO of Titan Medical Inc., commented, "We are very excited to achieve our first fourth quarter Engineering Verification Units milestone, as this marks a significant step forward in the SPORT™ Surgical System becoming a reality."
