TiVo and Midcontinent Announce Strategic Partnership

TiVo Selected as Exclusive Advanced Television Software Provider for Next-Generation Devices

ALVISO, CA and SIOUX FALLS, SD--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2012) - TiVo, Inc. (NASDAQ: TIVO), a leader in the advanced television entertainment market, and Midcontinent Communications, today announced that Midcontinent has selected TiVo to provide its next-generation television experience including TiVo's whole-home and multi-screen suite of products. Midcontinent Communications is the Upper Midwest's leading provider of data, video, phone and cable advertising services for more than 295,000 residential and business customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

As part of the partnership, Midcontinent will utilize TiVo's Emmy Award winning user experience to deliver its next generation whole home video service through a variety of devices and screens including multi-tuner gateways, low cost IP set-top-boxes, and mobile platforms. Midcontinent subscribers will be able to seamlessly access millions of pieces of content from integrated video on demand, linear television and the web using TiVo's world-renowned interface. Midcontinent plans to first deploy the TiVo experience for its subscribers in South Dakota, then intends to make TiVo the exclusive software offering on all new DVR devices throughout the Midcontinent network.
