Toilets Across the Globe Glow Colors, Going to the Bathroom Is Fun Again

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwired - Oct 20, 2015) - Illumibowl, a simple device that sticks to the side of a toilet and provides motion activated multi-colored lights at night, launched today, bringing disco capabilities to toilets around the world. Illumibowl shines its light from the toilet bowl rim into the toilet's water, providing illumination at night while you're stumbling through the darkness on your way to the john.

Illumibowl launched as a Kickstarter campaign in October 2014, raising $95,399, surpassing its $20,000 goal with help from more than 3,000 pledgers. Illumibowl is built with a rotating multicolor LED, so it can gradually change colors every few seconds or stay on one color if the user so chooses.

"Going to the bathroom at night never has to be painful or boring again," said Matt Alexander, creator and founder of Illumibowl. "Now, when you stumble through the dark into the loo, you are immediately met with the glow of orange or blue, bright enough to illuminate the whole bathroom, but not so bright you go blind from the light from the ceiling."

Illumibowl mounts on the rim of the user's toilet bowl, illuminating inside the bowl, and can rotate through white, red, orange, green, blue, teal, pink, or purple light, or can be set to one color in particular. Running on three AAA batteries, power will last for 6-7 months before needing a battery change. Alexander said the Illumibowl is simple but needed.

"We've all been blinded by the light in the middle of the night when we've had to get out of bed to use the bathroom," Alexander said. "That's a real pain point that I wanted to address and with Illumibowl, you'll be greeted by the illumination and surprise of a different colored glow coming from your toilet bowl."
