Tom Harris of Live Marketing Direct on the FIFA World Cup Decision

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Jan. 14, 2011) - Politics, Football and Windsor Royalty failed to score for the UK.

On 2nd of December 2010 the FIFA executive committee opted against sending the 2018 tournament to the UK and picked Russia to stage the next World Cup.

The United Kingdom put together the strongest representatives they could assemble: Prince William, David Cameron and David Beckham. Yet, despite the prestige of this combination, their fate was similar to that of the England World Cup Team; our country's best were still unable to pull their pitch off.

England's bid was described as "excellent and remarkable" by FIFA president Sepp Blatter, however this was just not enough to swing the voters. In the opinion of Live Marketing Direct CEO and Managing Director, Tom Harris, "Maybe they should have considered outsourcing the campaign to experts with a proven track record."

Tom Harris went on to say, "The world revolves around the sale of ideas, these can be big or small. Our role is to present any idea or concept in the most appealing way for our clients to their target audience. There is no interaction that is not a sale of some sort. In essence, there is no difference between Prince William, David Cameron and David Beckham attempting to convince the FIFA committee to host the World Cup in England and a company attempting to market a new kind of product. In both cases the representatives will be trying to persuade their listener that the option they present is the best one."

England cannot afford to be despondent and give up hope; Live Marketing Direct agrees with reports which speculate that the England team needs to get back on their feet and look forward to 2011. Indeed the Live Marketing Direct approach is to look to the future; 2010 was a good year but they plan an even better 2011.

The Live Marketing Direct philosophy is to handle customer generation; this leaves companies to do what they do best – strive to be different, develop and produce superior products.
