Tom Lindner Leaving as Vice President of News at KARE 11

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - Tom Lindner is leaving after 19 years of leading the newsroom, the last 15 years as Vice President of News. The announcement was made today at a newsroom gathering of KARE 11 station employees.

"For nearly 20 years Tom and I have connected on a daily basis," said John Remes, President and GeneralManager. "There is not one subject we have not covered during that time, including when to say when on making this change."

Remes cited Lindner's body of work over his 19 years at KARE 11 included many prestigious awards -- Edward R. Murrow Awards, Emmys, NPPA Awards, AP Awards, and many more.

"The headline is this," said Remes, "Tom has been leader of the best newsroom in the country and is leaving us in great shape to continue providing the news and information that our market expects from us. He will be missed."

"I've spent a third of my life at KARE 11," said Lindner. "I've been blessed to lead a team of nationally recognized journalists, storytellers, and all around great people. I have been in awe of their talents and quality work from day one. Now the thrill turns to starting anew in whatever venture awaits."

Tom will stay at KARE11 thru April and will consult through the transition.
