Tonbridge Power Inc. - National Energy Board Issues Permit for Montana Alberta Tie Line

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 4, 2007) - Tonbridge Power Inc. ("Tonbridge") (TSX VENTURE:TBZ) listed on the TSX Venture Exchange as TBZ, sole shareholder of the Montana Alberta Tie Ltd. ("MATL") transmission line project, is pleased to announce today that MATL has received its permit from the National Energy Board of Canada (NEB) to build and operate its 337 km , 300 MW 240kV transmission line planned as the first electrical connection between Alberta and neighboring Montana.

In evaluating the application for this permit, the NEB performed an exhaustive review of the environmental and economic impacts that this line would have. The NEB's permit is conditional only upon MATL providing the environmental effect management and mitigation processes the company itself had proposed. No additional conditions were imposed by the regulator.

Johan van't Hof, Tonbridge Power's Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are very pleased with this decision by the NEB. This is a major milestone in the completion of the MATL project and it comes at a time when other regulatory processes are proceeding well. We thus look forward to commencing the construction phase when the other major permits are in. The Board and staff worked very hard on this application and I am very appreciative of their effort."(For a further information regarding the regulatory processes the MATL project is subject to, reference the Tonbridge Power Inc. news release issued March 7, 2006 or visit
