High-Quality Parenting Information Highlighted in ParentPower Application

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - May 6, 2008) - ActiveAccess launched its Beta version of the ParentPower Desktop Application. The ParentPower application -- built with the input of parenting bloggers -- highlights headlines from parenting bloggers and provides quick links to social networks right on the desktop.

The application is being offered in tandem with the ParentPower Index that contains over 220 bloggers, with more being added daily by the community. ParentPower is poised to become one of the most comprehensive indices of parent bloggers.

A Desktop Application, Index and Headlines from the bloggers on the Index comprise the ParentPower offering.

The Desktop Application

The ParentPower Desktop Application is designed to make the lives of busy parents a little easier by helping them to find great content fast. There are quick links to popular social networks such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Flickr and Sk*rt. There is also a link to recent headlines by parent bloggers included in the Index, as well as to the BlogHer Mommy and Family headlines.

The application has a pop-out window that includes games, parenting videos and podcasts. Plus, the application is customized with local weather by zipcode and includes an easy to use RSS reader that contains preloaded feeds and can be customized with additional feeds from news websites or blogs.

The Index and Headlines

The ParentPower Index includes rankings so that parents can quickly find relevant and quality bloggers. The Headlines page gives a snapshot of what is happening in the Parenting Blogosphere. This brings added visibility for the bloggers in the Index and for people looking for parenting tips and other information.

The Index follows a percentile ranking system that uses Technorati inbound links and rank, Bloglines subscriptions, Alexa Rank, Google PageRank, and Yahoo! inbound links. All of these are averaged and each blog is given a percentile score. There is more information on the ParentPower methodology page.

Content Partners and Advertisers

As a powerful content delivery platform that streamlines the delivery of parenting information to users, ParentPower offers a unique opportunity for content providers and advertisers to extend their relationship with this particular core audience.
