Sophia Systems and Intrinsyc Software Speed Development Time for Japanese OEMs

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2007) - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a global wireless software solutions provider, today announced a new systems integration relationship with Sophia Systems Co., Ltd., a consumer electronics solutions provider that enables general purpose handhelds and multimedia embedded products for the Japan market. The agreement will broaden Intrinsyc's reach in the Asia market and will allow consumer electronics manufacturers in Japan to more rapidly develop and deliver Windows® Embedded CE and Windows Mobile based devices.

Sophia Systems has engaged Intrinsyc to develop a reference board support package (BSP) based on the Windows Mobile operating system for the Sandgate III-P development platform with the Marvell PXA300 series applications processor. Intrinsyc will demonstrate an alpha version of the Windows Mobile BSP at the annual Embedded Technology Conference and Exhibition (ET2007) in Yokohama, Japan, November 14-16, 2007. Additionally, Intrinsyc has been contracted by Sophia Systems to perform software engineering services for select Sandgate III-P development platform customers.

"Until now, it's been challenging for Japanese handheld device OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to secure highly proficient Asia Pacific-based Windows Mobile and Embedded CE systems integrators," said Tasuku Kashihira, Board Chairman, Sophia Systems. "Intrinsyc has deep expertise in Windows Mobile and Embedded CE software technology, backed by many years of experience. This latest agreement with Intrinsyc will allow our customers to leverage this software development know-how to speed the introduction of new handheld devices."

"Two years have passed since our first Windows Mobile phone was released in Japan. Not only has the number of Windows Mobile device models increased since then, but the user layer has also been expanding steadily," explains Seiji Umeda, Lead, Mobile and Embedded Devices Business Group, Microsoft Co., Ltd. "We expect 'Sandgate III-P' to accelerate mobile device development by OEMs and to also strongly support development capabilities of independent software / hardware vendors, thus providing momentum for the market expansion of Windows Mobile."

"Our relationship with Sophia Systems continues to expand and brings Intrinsyc's wireless expertise to Japan - a market of leading wireless device manufacturers," said Mark Johnston, Executive Vice President & General Manager, Worldwide Sales and Business Development, Intrinsyc Software. "Sophia will utilize Intrinsyc's Windows Mobile and Embedded CE capabilities in combination with their hardware platforms to help Japanese OEMS develop their wireless devices faster and with lower development costs."
