TOPICS Entertainment Uses "Little Steps" to Take on Disney

New Baby Education DVD Line Retails for Half the Cost of Baby Einstein and Provides a More Animated Graphical Design for Babies and Kids

RENTON, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 22, 2007 -- TOPICS Entertainment, the #1 publisher of reference, entertainment, language and productivity software in the nation, today announced the launch of a new baby education product line, competing head-to-head with Disney's Baby Einstein™. Little Steps™ retails for half the cost of Baby Einstein and provides a more compelling graphical design for babies and kids using both animation and real-life footage. Created by several talented moms, education experts and child enthusiasts, the Little Steps line promotes an affordable and fun approach to early child development and learning.

"We have a proven track record of providing great software products and DVDs for the best value," said Greg James, CEO, TOPICS Entertainment. "In 2002 we knocked Microsoft off the shelves with our #1 selling language line and we plan to do it again -- this time against Disney, with Little Steps."

DVD titles include subjects from colors, shapes and numbers to more advanced education programs including simple math concepts and nature. Little Steps partners with organizations like the National Wildlife Federation to make learning fun and challenging for kids. The Wild Animal Baby™ series teaches preschool-age kids literacy, simple math concepts and development of motor skills through imitating animals. Wild Animal Baby also combines animation with real-life footage to give kids a real depiction of nature and wildlife.

Little Steps is available at all major retailers including Costco, Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, Borders, and Sam's Club to name a few and Wild Animal Baby is available exclusively at Best Buy until June 2007. Single DVDs retail for $9.99 and a complete box of three DVDs including Tales of Learning, First Words, Sights & Sounds, Little Scholars and Shapes, Letters and Colors retails for $19.99. The Wild Animal Baby series also retails for $9.99 per DVD.

"We've spent the last five years creating a product that is both fun and educational for babies and kids," said Keri Mann, creator, Babyscapes. "While Babyscapes has seen strong demand at smaller stores and boutiques, we lacked the resources and distribution to reach large retailers like Best Buy and Costco. Working with TOPICS Entertainment has helped us gain access to all the major retailers and helped us create and maintain a consistent brand, package and aggressive sales strategy."

Little Steps accolades and awards include:

-- Parents' Choice Silver Honor
-- Dr. Toy's 10 Best Audio/Video Tapes
-- Dr. Toy's 100 Best Children's Products
-- The National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval

Little Steps is the latest addition to more than 40 DVDs and 300 software and audio titles published and distributed by TOPICS Entertainment and is the first true competitor to Disney's Baby Einstein. TOPICS Entertainment also produces other popular software titles including the industry-leading Success™ education product line and Instant Immersion™ language product line.
