Torex Gold Resources Inc. (the "Company" or "Torex") (TSX:TXG) announced today its financial results for the year ended October 31, 2011.

YEAR END 2011 HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Company continued to encounter significant and high-grade gold mineralization in step-out and infill drilling on all known deposits during the year
  • The successful 2011 drill results from all three of the known gold deposits north of the Balsas River are expected to extend the known gold mineralization and add significant ounces to the global resource
  • Mineral resource estimate modelling for the north of the Balsas River deposits commenced subsequent to the year end with the final mineral resource estimates expected to be completed by the end of March 2012
  • Project development work advanced across a number of sectors, including feasibility level engineering, preparations for environmental permitting, and preparations to secure water rights
  • Given the continued positive results of the infill and step out drilling at the deposits north of the Balsas River and the extensive high quality engineering already completed to date, the Company made the decision to advance directly to a feasibility study, which is expected to be completed by the end of June 2012
  • The development of the Morelos Gold Project remains on target and commissioning is expected by the end of calendar 2014
  • One-year surface access agreements were successfully renewed with the Rio Balsas, Puente Sur Balsas and Real Del Limon Ejidos

  • Negotiation of road allowances for the east service road commenced
  • Work resumed at the Morelos Gold Project following a temporary suspension of on-site activities during the second quarter of fiscal 2011

  • Gross Proceeds of $77.8 million received subsequent to the year end, resulting from the exercise of warrants and compensation options
  • James Crombie was appointed to the board of directors
  • The Company hired Alejandro Kakarieka as its new Vice-President of Exploration and Corporate Development
