Tornado Gold Receives Drill Permit for Illipah Gold Project; Past Work Has Barely Scratched the Surface

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 6, 2006) -

Dr. Earl W. Abbott reports:

Tornado Gold International Corp. (OTCBB:TOGI) is pleased to announce it has received drill permitting for the Illipah gold exploration target in Nevada. Since acquiring the mining claims on the property this past August, the company has undertaken a number of initiatives aimed at delineating drill targets.

While the Company has accumulated an exceptionally large claim position in Nevada, management places the Illipah Mine, a former gold production property, among its top priorities.

Between 1982 and 1992, 37,000 ounces was produced by Alta Gold from an open pit at the north end of the Illipah. Since then a number of groups conducted gold exploration programs on the property, among them Tenneco, Battle Mountain Gold, Cyprus Gold, and Barrick.

Among all holes drilled in previous gold exploration programs on the Illipah, one hole drilled by Battle Mountain intersected 35 feet averaging 0.08 oz/ton gold at a depth of 750 feet. An Alta Gold drill hole intersected 20 feet of 0.27 oz/ton gold at 345 feet. To date, neither of these significant results has received follow. More importantly, drilling to date has not tested deeper formations on the Illipah.

Based on historical data from near-surface exploration of past programs on the Illipah, Tornado has derived a current resource estimate of 953,717 tons of ore grading 0.036 oz/ton gold for a total 34,657 oz/gold.

Going forward, given a new exploration concept based on other deposits, the Company intends to use modern application of leading technology to explore the targeted mineral trend on the Illipah along its entire a strike length of six miles.

Over the past 60 days, Tornado has conducted surface sampling and geochemistry to verify historical data; delineated drill targets; received drill permits; and currently awaits the arrival of a drill for core sampling on the property.

"Past programs on this property aimed predominantly at near-surface targets. Given the historical data, and past results, and knowing what we know today about the other geologically similar deposits, we intend to test the Illipah deeper than in past," said CEO Dr. Earl Abbott.
