Toronto Conference to Tackle Terrorism, Mental Illness & Promote Wellbeing

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 25, 2016) - The world's largest Meaning Conference will meet in Toronto July 28th to 31st. Leading researchers and clinicians will gather at the Novotel North York Hotel to tackle the problem of terrorism and the mental health crisis and explore ways to promote wellbeing.

"Increasing evidence from psychology and neuroscience has shown that meeting people's basic needs for meaning is the key to resolving human conflicts and enhancing the wellbeing of individuals and society," says Paul T. P. Wong, Conference Chair and a leading voice in meaning-centered research and therapy.

Bestselling authors Rabbi Michael Lerner, Alex Pattakos, Jordan Peterson and Ronald de Sousa will offer hopeful insights regarding the paradox of terrorism and heroism from their respective expertise.

Leading clinicians, Robert Neimeyer, Mick Cooper, William Britbart, and Kirt Schneider will demonstrate how to work with meaning in life issues to reduce mental illness and increase wellbeing.

Meaning Conference 2016 will host the first ever Summit on Second Wave Positive Psychology. Leaders in this emerging movement, such as Itai Ivtzan and Paul Wong, will show how we can bring out the best in people by embracing the dark side of life.

The conference will offer numerous workshops and symposiums dealing with positive management and positive education and meaning-centered addiction recovery.

All mental health professionals, coaches, and educated lay people interested in existential positive psychology are welcome to attend.
