Toronto Joined "Global Work Party" to Help Spread the Climate Crisis Message

Over 180 Countries Join 10/10/10: a Day of Practical Climate Action

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 12, 2010) - In celebration and recognition of 10/10/10, a global action day for climate solutions, twenty-five DareArts students, ages 14-16, gathered at the Lombard Insurance office on Adelaide St. W. They came toting fifty t-shirts that were designed and painted by a younger group of DareArts children (ages 10 -12), who were taught (many for the first time) about the three R's – reduce, reuse, recycle. Each child had painted a message to convey the importance of addressing climate solutions and spreading the word throughout our communities.

The students met and mingled with Lombard Insurance employees, who had made personal donations toward the purchase of art supplies and the 100% organic and sweat-shop free t-shirts that were used to display the 350 message.

Scientists say that 350 parts per million CO2 in the atmosphere is the safe limit for humanity. Learn more about 350 – what it means, where it came from, and how to get there, as well as learning about events that took place around the world on 10/10/10, at www.350.org.
