Toshiba VP/GM Brian Metherell to Speak at ITEXPO West 2010

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 1, 2010) -  ITEXPO WEST -- Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba -- www.telecom.toshiba.com) today announced that Brian Metherell, VP and general manager, will participate in a panel session titled, "Making the Business Case for SIP Trunking in the SMB" at Technology Marketing Corporation's("TMC") ITEXPO West 2010 on Monday, October 4th from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles.

ITEXPO, taking place October 4-6, 2010, is the world's largest and best-attended IP Communications trade show. At the 2009 West Coast event last September, the show drew more than 6,100 buyers and sellers of IP Communications products and services. TMC expects strong domestic and international attendance again this year.

"Representing Toshiba, I am pleased to be participating in the 'Making the Business Case for SIP Trunking in the SMB' panel at ITEXPO," said Brian Metherell, VP and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. "SIP Trunking gives end-users the features and benefits of ISDN land lines but over a data connection, eliminating the need and cost for separate services for voice and data applications." A proponent of SIP Trunking, Toshiba has certified 23 SIP Trunking providers thus far and offers their services via Toshiba's nationwide Authorized Dealer Network.

"We are very pleased that Brian Metherell will be participating in this year's show. Toshiba is respected as an industry leader and I am confident that our attendees will appreciate and value the opportunity to hear his perspective on SIP Trunking for the SMB," said TMC Chief Executive Officer Rich Tehrani.

Session Overview:
SIP Trunking is one of the hottest topics in enterprise communications, largely because it holds great promise for cost savings and more efficient use of IP telephony infrastructure. Not only does SIP Trunking have the potential to lower the telecom spend for the SMB, but it is a service that can evolve with its changing needs, particularly as they implement a Unified Communications strategy.

Capturing these benefits will require diligent attention to the technical details of SIP Trunking to build a solid business case. This session will look at the business case for SIP Trunking. Participants will explore deployment scenarios, the flexibility it provides, and the cost-savings that can be realized through its implementation.
