Total Environmental Restoration Solutions, Inc. Restores Historic NYC Building Faced With Lead on Premises

Total Environmental Restoration Solutions, Inc. (TERS) Eliminates Lead From More Than 100,000 Sq. Ft. in an NYC Building

NANUET, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2015) - Disaster recovery company Total Environmental Restoration Solutions, Inc. (TERS) recently serviced a very old historic landmark building in NYC with suspected lead in the building's multi-layered indoor paint. Understanding the potential health risks, TERS responded quickly and began the analysis and lead abatement process immediately.

Upon arrival, TERS' team identified the problem areas, determined the lead presence, fully analyzed the exposure levels, provided a comprehensive plan to eliminate exposure, and, in the end, removed all lead and safely disposed of all harmful materials.

TERS lead experts are fully certified to provide full lead evaluation and remediation. The TERS unique lead abatement process is water-based with instant drying to avoid additional dust particles that can have further detriments to inhabitants' health.

The removal process is nontoxic and nonflammable, as well as time-efficient. To restore more than 100,000 sq. ft., TERS experts were able to remove all lead from the premises in two weeks by working on multiple floors at once. The client also received a warranty for lead removal, as well as an inspection by a third party to ensure all lead traces have been removed.

TERS advises owners of buildings built before 1978 to check for lead in both indoor and outdoor paint. Indoor lead presence can be harmless until stirred during home renovations or remodeling. To ensure safety of all inhabitants, lead removal is strongly recommended.

In 1978, the federal government banned consumer uses of lead paint. Homes built before 1978 may have lead-based paint indoors, and lead in the soil from outdoor paint. Lead most often gets into the body through airborne dust particles. Swallowing lead dust that has settled on food or plates or eating paint chips or soil with lead content is also possible.

Lead is most dangerous to children under the age of six. Once ingested by a child, lead can cause nervous system damage, kidney damage, learning disabilities, ADD, behavioral problems, speech difficulty, poor muscle coordination, hearing damage and decreased muscle and bone development.

TERS provides comprehensive environmental services for commercial and residential facilities, industrial buildings, schools, hospitals and hotels. Aside from lead abatement, TERS specializes in water damage restoration, fire damage restoration, and indoor air quality. A 24-hour emergency assistance hotline is available for restoration emergencies. Visit www.ters.com for a complete list of services.
