Tourism Niagara Announces Annual Visitor Guides for 2008/2009 Now Available

"Niagara Seasons" and "Les Saisons" guides highlight Niagara accommodations, Niagara-on-the-Lake wine tours, and so much more!

NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 22, 2008) - Tourism Niagara, a division of Niagara Economic Development Corporation, is delighted to announce that the 2008/2009 edition of "Niagara Seasons" and the 2008/2009 "Les Saisons" are available for visitors looking to experience the best of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

"Niagara Seasons," which is published in partnership with Niagara Falls Tourism and Osprey Media Group, will be distributed throughout Niagara and Ontario to facilitate visitors' Niagara Region and Niagara Falls vacation getaways.

The attractive guide highlights Niagara as a destination with experiences that cater to many different interests. The guide has a special emphasis on popular Niagara Falls attractions and services such as the Niagara on the Lake Heritage District and Niagara hotels.

The annual visitor guide features articles on topics such as Natural Outdoors with the Welland Canal and Niagara River; Food, Wine & Drink with Niagara-on-the-Lake wine tours; Niagara's Culture and History; Fun with the Family; and Shopping & Antiquing such as at the Niagara falls outlet mall. This year the magazine's Festivals and Events section has been expanded with more than 100 events from all of Niagara's communities.

The 400,000 issue distribution features a newspaper insertion program including the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and the Ottawa Citizen. To coincide with Niagara Week in Toronto, 40,000 copies will be inserted in the Toronto Star on April 22/08.

The best of the Niagara region is displayed in this official tourist guide and is distributed through all Ontario Travel Centres throughout the province; locally at community information centres and Gateway Niagara in Grimsby as well through CAA and AAA offices in Canada and the United States.

Tourisme Franco-Niagara is also pleased to announce the 2008 "Les Saisons," the official French language visitor's guide, is also printed and ready for distribution in Niagara.

The Niagara visitor's guide is not just a translation of the English publication but it features an editorial written from a Francophone perspective. "Les Saisons" presentation of Niagara is based on themes focused to appeal to the French visitor. The content for this publication was completely revised this year based on visitor surveys in the summer and fall of 2007.

"Les Saisons" will be distributed at information centres bordering Quebec, at Quebec CAA offices, at selected trade shows including the Quebec Vacation Show in Quebec City and through the new website.

Tourisme Franco Niagara is a marketing alliance of Tourism Niagara, a division of the Niagara Economic Development Corporation, Venture Niagara and Club 2000. The group has been targeting the Quebec market for several years and has launched a number of initiatives including the "Bonjour" campaign, a strategy that involves marketing and French language customer service training and the new French web site This web site has recently received new funding from the Ministry of Tourism which will compliment the "Les Saisons" book. Both the publication and the web site will include increased attention to the popular cycling, agritourism and culinary activities.
