Tourism Tofino Appoints Executive Director

Seasoned Business Leader Sharon Lingenfelter to Head Destination Marketing Organization

TOFINO, BC--(Marketwire - February 25, 2009) - Tourism Tofino, the destination marketing organization (DMO) formed in 2008 to promote the attributes of the community of Tofino to the world-wide travel industry, today announced the appointment of Sharon Lingenfelter as Executive Director.

A Tofino resident, Lingenfelter has a notable record of achievement as a seasoned business executive with extensive tourism industry experience. Most recently, she held the position of Executive Director of the Oregon Restaurant Education Foundation where she worked to establish the highest standards in training for tourism and hospitality industry employees by building and leveraging strategic alliances. Lingenfelter has also held senior management positions with various state and provincial organizations, including the Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia.
