Town Hall Highlights Emerging Trade Opportunities With Colombia and Peru

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 10, 2007 -- His Excellency Felipe Ortiz de Zavallos, Ambassador of Peru to the United States and Mariana Pacheco, Deputy Chief of Mission for the Embassy of Colombia will update the audience on the status of free trade agreements with their respective nations and the opportunities they present on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

The engagement at Town Hall is part of a larger effort by TradeRoots and the US Chamber of Commerce focusing on the pending Peruvian and Colombian Free Trade Agreements. Town Hall members, the business community, and importer/exporters can ask about prospects that exist within these two burgeoning markets.

Ambassador Zevallos was appointed to his current position in 2006. He is Founder and Chairman of the APOYO Group, a consulting, publishing and polling organization. Zevallos is a graduate of the University of Rochester and Harvard Business School.

Pacheco was appointed DCM for the Colombian Embassy in December 2006. Prior to her current position, Pacheco worked at Sander, Travis & Rosenberg as a consultant in international trade and government relations practice. She is an expert in negotiating trade agreements at the bilateral, regional and multilateral levels.

Throughout its history, Town Hall has convened events centered on international relations and politics. In 2006, Town Hall welcomed His Excellency Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Ambassador to the United States from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and hosted a panel on Mexican democracy with representatives from Mexico's major political parties. In November 2005, Town Hall welcomed the President and CEO of the US Chamber of Commerce, Thomas J. Donohue, who delivered the address "Building a More Competitive America."
