On Earth Hour, which took place on March 26, 2011, the suites hotel and its guests joined other businesses and groups in the US in sending a message about the environment by turning off non-essential lights and electrical equipment.

In continuing with the hotel's commitment to operate in a sustainable fashion, the TownePlace Suites BWI again is inviting its guests to join in their efforts. At the TownePlace Suites BWI and for our company we believe we are bringing meaning to that belief by running our hotel as environmentally responsible as possible. This is a smart business practice and we believe our guests appreciate what we are doing. Also I recently became a grandfather and I am more aware than ever that the legacy and the world we leave for the generations to come will be largely how our lives will be and should be measured."

The TownePlace Suites BWI International Airport accommodations provide a free waste-neutral breakfast that includes compostable plates and utensils.
