TOYOCOM and Ambient Form Alliance; New Alliance to
Take on North American Market

BOSTON--(CCNMatthews - Feb 24, 2005) -

Ambient Corporation (OTCBB: ABTG), and Toyo Communication Equipment Co.,
LTD. (TOYOCOM) of Japan, both leaders in Power Line Communications
(PLC), announced today the execution of an Alliance and Distribution
Agreement. TOYOCOM and Ambient have formed the Alliance to aggressively
market their products to North American utilities, Internet Service
Providers (ISPs), and building managers and developers.

TOYOCOM is a publicly-traded company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is
a related company of the computer, networking, semiconductor and
component giant NEC. TOYOCOM has been a DS2 licensee since 2002 and
their products have been successfully deployed in large-scale pilots in
Spain and Portugal.

Ambient and TOYOCOM have formed the Alliance to:

-- provide for the joint development, implementation, and
commercialization of their respective PLC technologies in North America;

-- generate revenues from PLC network design, installation and sale of
their respective equipment;

-- leverage greater economies of scale by collaborating the companies'
respective PLC development and production efforts, and

-- cross-license their respective PLC equipment and technologies.

Mr. Yoshinori Suzuki, President of TOYOCOM Network Systems, commented on
the Alliance, "Throughout our relationship, we have been impressed with
Ambient's technical team, improvements to next-generation technology and
the overall focus of Ambient's plan to commercialization. Working
together as one team, we will deploy best-of-breed product."

TOYOCOM and Ambient technology teams have initiated their collaborative
efforts on next generation products to respond to identified
opportunities in the evolving PLC market.

"This alliance is very exciting for both Ambient and TOYOCOM," stated
John J. Joyce, President and CEO of Ambient. "Collaborative efforts
strengthen the two companies' endeavors into PLC deployments in North
America and other markets. The Alliance opens up a new market for
TOYOCOM and brings added strength to Ambient's efforts to broaden
acceptance and deployment of PLC technologies."
