TraceLink Enhances Transaction History Portal to Facilitate DSCSA Document Exchange Between Suppliers and Any US Supply Chain Member

Customers Now Have Simple Method for Providing Required DSCSA Compliance Documentation Electronically to Disconnected Supply Chain Partners for Drop Shipments and Other Scenarios

WAKEFIELD, MA--(Marketwired - Dec 22, 2014) - TraceLink Inc., the leader in protecting patient safety and enabling health for global Life Sciences, today announced major enhancements to its Transaction History Portal providing TraceLink customers with unprecedented electronic access to any pharmaceutical supply chain company that needs to receive DSCSA Transaction Information (TI), Transaction History (TH), and Transaction Statement (TS) documents under the U.S. Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)

TraceLink customers can currently share DSCSA compliance documents with more than 70,000 supply chain members that are already interconnected on the company's Life Sciences Cloud platform -- and the company has already processed more than 250,000 transactions for customers who are currently live, shipping commercial goods across the US pharmaceutical supply chain with all of the DSCSA compliance documents required for January 1. However, some TraceLink customers will have a critical need to provide DSCSA documents to a broader group of trading partners that have yet to join the TraceLink network. TraceLink's Transaction History Portal now allows the company's pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution customers to connect with any pharmaceutical supplier that is not currently on the Life Sciences Cloud, providing them with the ability to achieve virtually 100% coverage with any business that is part of the US pharmaceutical supply chain.

"In working with customers over the past year, many asked if we could facilitate electronic DSCSA compliance document exchange with supply chain parties that don't have current connections with our customers through the Life Sciences Cloud -- for example, those who have a need to manage drop shipments of pharmaceutical products to dispensers," said Lucy Deus, vice president of product management at TraceLink. "We've responded by creating a simple, secure method where any trading partner may register to view, print and save DSCSA compliance documents placed in the Transaction History Portal by their supplier on the TraceLink network. No other track and trace solution provider is able to offer this level of trading partner connectivity to ensure that every US pharmaceutical company is in the best position to meet next month's DSCSA deadline."

Accessing DSCSA Compliance Documents with the TraceLink Transaction History Portal

As part of TraceLink's SupplyNexus community, where Life Sciences supply chain experts come together to collaborate, share information, and discuss industry best practices, the TraceLink Transaction History Portal further simplifies DSCSA electronic data exchange for any company in the US pharmaceutical supply chain that needs to share compliance documentation with specific trading partners.

When a TraceLink customer sends a drop shipment to a pharmacy or other company that is not on the Life Sciences Cloud, the shipment will also include the Transaction History Portal URL and additional information that the recipient can use to access the required DSCSA compliance documents for that shipment. After completing a simple, one-time registration process to create a TraceLink user account, the receiving trading partner can then use the Transaction History Portal to:

  • Enter some basic information to authenticate portal access - including supplier information, a delivery number, and a unique Transaction History access code provided on packing slips, through email, or virtually any other supplier communication method;

  • Gain access to an individual supplier's DSCSA TH, TI, TS compliance documents - associated with drop shipments, or other situations, where a previous online compliance connection between trading partners doesn't exist; and,

  • View, print, save and retrieve historical compliance documents for a particular shipment at any time - by reusing the supplier-specific delivery number and TraceLink-generated unique access code.
