Trade Press release: CAE Healthcare to host first bilingual HPSN Europe conference with Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid

MADRID, SPAIN--(Marketwired - Sep 17, 2015) - CAE Healthcare kicks off its tenth annual Human Patient Simulation Network (HSPN) Europe conference today in Madrid with a record number attendees and academic presentations in both Spanish and English. The bilingual conference has drawn healthcare faculty and clinicians from Europe and the Americas to explore best practices in the use of high-fidelity simulation training for nurses, physicians and emergency responders.

Dr. Robert Amyot, President of CAE Healthcare will offer opening remarks followed by Dr. Javier Vazquez Granado, President of the Spanish Society for Clinical Simulation and Patient Safety (SESSEP - España, Sociedad Española de Simulación Clínica y Seguridad del Paciente). Three keynote speakers will present innovations in healthcare simulation from the educator's perspective: Professor Fernando Caballero Martinez, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Francisco de Vitoria University, Madrid, Spain; Laura Gonzalez, PhD, ARNP, CNE, University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL, Incoming VP of Programs for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation (INACSL) and Felipe Spinelli de Carvalho, MBA, Director of Education for Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The host institution, Francisco de Vitoria University (, has integrated multi-disciplinary simulation training into its health sciences programs and operates a mixed modality learning center with surgical and patient simulation. The two-day conference features more than 60 educational sessions and poster presentations on healthcare simulation-based pedagogy topics ranging from Standardized Patient programs to reducing mother-fetus mortality through the use of simulation. On the second day, a collaborative group will present an interactive simulation: an airplane crash with multiple survivors with injuries.
