Trade Winds Ventures Intersects 60.76 Grams/Tonne Gold Over 1.95 Metres From the M Zone Corridor at Detour Lake, Ontario

TIMMINS, ON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 6, 2006 -- Trade Winds Ventures Inc. (TSX-V: TWD) (FWB: TVR) is pleased to report the final fire assay results from six diamond drill holes that tested the M Zone Structural Corridor on Section 16300E during the 2006 winter drilling program.

Diamond drill hole TWDDH-175 returned 60.76 grams/tonne gold over 1.95 metres (1.772 oz/ton gold over 6.4 feet) from a hanging wall zone, located within 20 metres of the ultramafic.

The purpose of drilling on Section 16300E was to determine both near surface and down-dip potential of the M Zone Structural Corridor, including the ultramafic unit and the mineralization along the M Zone Structural Corridor between Sections 16260E and 16340E.

Holes TWDDH-154, TWDDH-157 and TWDDH-158 tested the structure shallowly within less than 100 metres of surface. Holes TWDDH-175, TWDDH-176 and TWDDH-178 tested the same structure approximately 215 to 340 metres below surface. Numerous hanging wall gold-bearing zones were encountered in the deeper holes, with 13, 11, and 18 gold zones being intersected in holes TWDDH-175, TWDDH-176 and TWDDH-178 respectively.

Details of significant fire assay results received for holes completed on Section 16300E are as follows:

Mr. Ian Lambert, Trade Winds' CEO, commented: "Trade Winds continues to identify exceptional high grade gold values, with visible gold occurring in 85% of the holes reported along the M Zone Structural Corridor, with over 71% of the holes reported to date returning at least 10 g/tonne gold over a minimum of 1.0 metre. We continue to provide significant results from our 2006 winter drilling program, extending from near surface to -300 metres over a distance of 1.2 kilometres from Sections 15540E to 16740E. We are very pleased to be able to consistently report high grade gold results extending over the current four kilometre strike length on the M Zone Structural Corridor, which remains open along strike and to depth."

As well, Trade Winds continues to drill test its 100% owned Gowest Project with the purpose of locating additional gold zones within and in close proximity to the M Zone komatiite and extending these zones to the west.

Starting in August, Trade Winds will begin to work on its 100% owned Turner Lake Project in Nunavut. The two week program will evaluate several peripheral targets to the Main Gold Zone. The largest and not yet drill tested peripheral target is the Nickel Knob. Previous grab samples returned appreciable copper, nickel, platinum, palladium and gold values. The Nickel Knob contains a gossan that extends for several hundred metres in an area where air photo interpretations indicate a triple junction of structures.

Mr. Lorne Warner, P. Geo., is the qualified person for the Trade Winds Detour Lake and Turner Lake projects. Trade Winds, as operator of the projects, has implemented a quality control program to ensure best practices in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. All fire assay results are being provided by ALS Chemex, North Vancouver, BC, an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
