Tradeplace Announces Record Operational Improvements for 2006

Premier European Manufacturing Consortium Dramatically Increases Operating Efficiencies With On-Demand Cross-Enterprise Business Integration Solution

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - September 4, 2007) - Tradeplace, a consortium of leading European household appliance and consumer electronics manufacturers, together with Hubspan, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand integration solutions, announced record 2006 results achieved by Tradeplace members. The participating companies include the five leading global household appliance manufacturers -- BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, Electrolux Major Appliances Europe, Whirlpool Europe, Indesit Company, and Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands -- have experienced a combined 22 percent increase in operational efficiencies attributed to this innovative integration platform. In addition to the Tradeplace founding members, companies including Miele, Hoover Candy Group, Glen Dimplex, and Servis are also benefiting by expanding their reach into larger trading communities.

Powered by Hubspan's unique and efficient central communications hub and integration technology, Tradeplace members seamlessly connect with back-end systems at more than 150 retail and distributor partners. Every day, Tradeplace provides more than 40,000 individuals with a direct connection to manufacturers for inventory and delivery information as well as on-the-spot order processing, and this figure is expected to continue growing.

"Tradeplace members operate in a highly competitive marketplace," said Karel van der Horst, Head of eBusiness and Customer Relationship Management at BSH Bosch. "When we formed the consortium, we wanted to improve our operating efficiency while also greatly improving the selection and ordering experience for our retailers and their customers. Hubspan has not only delivered the flexible and cost-effective platform we were seeking, it has also achieved our goal of reaching out to the demand side -- our customers and our customers' customers -- to give them the service and response they deserve."

"Building rapid, cost-effective, and secure connections with the customer community is a business imperative for our clients because better information faster means better service," said Trisha Gross, executive vice president at Hubspan. "By leveraging the Hubspan solution, Tradeplace was able to derive immediate value by connecting its extended partner trading community within just a few months of initiation while improving operational efficiency in the process."

Hubspan Powers Tradeplace

Tradeplace is the first business-to-business joint service venture of the European household appliances and consumer electronics industry. This consortium of leading companies represents nearly 60% of the European market and EUR 65+ billion in worldwide annual sales, jointly employing almost 370,000 people globally.

"Tradeplace is important because for the first time, manufacturers are working together for the greater good of the retailer and consumer," said Richard Ambler, manager, extended warranty at UK-based John Lewis Department Stores. "Now, with 90 percent of our manufacturers able to deliver real-time information, we can give our customers firm availability and delivery dates. This is a truly remarkable improvement, and our sales figures reflect it."

Tradeplace members envisioned a communications portal that also delivered the ability to execute business transactions end-to-end, from inventory checking to order submission, invoicing, and product delivery. In short, they wanted straight-through processing of multi-company transactions that enabled each participant to connect via their own native business systems. This capability, combined with a robust machine-to-machine messaging platform, serves as a central integration hub supporting business processes among consortium members, retailers, distributors, and other members of the European retail community.

After evaluating multiple solution options, Tradeplace determined that Hubspan offered the only solution that met all of its requirements:

-- Comprehensive Integration Services - Delivers the experience and
expertise to implement, support, and manage the daily operations of a large
trading community, including change management, 24x7 language-specific
    support, and partner on-ramping.

messaging standard to connect trading partners at the business process
    level.

performance for all mission-critical transactions as the community
    continues to grow.
-- Rapid Partner Onboarding - Allows resellers, distributors, and channel

trading community. Hubspan's lightweight on-ramp kit even allows companies
with few technical capabilities to connect within in three days or less.

needs of the household appliance and consumer electronics industries.
