Trainer Communications' CEO Susan Thomas Named Woman Entrepreneur of the Year

Women's Initiative, a Bay Area Non-Profit for Female Entrepreneurs, Announces Winners of 2010 Competition

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - September 7, 2010) -  Trainer Communications, a full-service public relations, integrated marketing and social media agency servicing the enterprise and consumer technology sectors, today announced that Susan Thomas, the agency's CEO and founder, was named the 2010 Women's Initiative Woman Entrepreneur of the Year for Pleasanton, California. Selected from a pool of nearly 600, Thomas is being honored for her leadership and positive contributions to the community, as well as her ability to advance her business through strategic and technological innovations.

"I'm honored to be recognized as a leader in the business community by this prestigious organization," said Thomas. "When I founded Trainer Communications in 1995, I intended to do things differently by leveraging only accountable strategists that could execute customized campaigns that exceeded clients' expectations. That strategy has worked well for Trainer and its clients over the past 15 years, and I'm humbled to be included in this group of distinguished female executives."

Thomas will join other award winners on October 4 at the Claremont Hotel and Spa in Berkeley to receive her award. Women's Initiative will recognize Susan and her fellow winners for contributing jobs and economic revitalization to their communities. In fact, recent research from Women's Initiative shows that the award recipients created more than 2200 jobs in 2009 alone.

Thomas, who has received several other awards over her 20+ year career, established Trainer Communications in 1995 to support some of the most prominent emerging technology companies with cutting-edge marketing communications services. Since that time, the agency has become the seventh largest privately held communications agency in the greater Bay Area and has been named "PR Agency of the Year" by Bulldog Reporter for 2010. Trainer Communications has played an integral role in generating high-profile publicity for more than 200 companies, including Brocade, Comcast, CrossWorlds, Data Domain, FishNet, G-Log, Nimsoft (a CA Technologies company), Sygate, and Trigo.
