Trango Broadband Wireless Introduces TrangoLINK® Apex at CTIA Wireless, New All-Outdoor Up to 800 Mbps/1.6 Gbps Carrier Ethernet Licensed Microwave Wireless Backhaul Solution With Integrator Pricing as Low as $8,000 per Link

All-in-One Design Simplifies Wireless Ethernet Backhaul, Improves ROI, Delivers Carrier-Class Availability, and Features Dual Optical and Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - March 25, 2008) - Trango Broadband Wireless, leading global developer of high-capacity microwave wireless solutions, today introduced an addition to its arsenal of point-to-point licensed microwave native Gigabit Ethernet wireless backhaul products, the TrangoLINK® Apex. TrangoLINK® Apex delivers up to 800 Megabits per second capacity and can be configured with two units on each end to double the capacity up to 1.6 Gigabits per second. A distinguishing characteristic of the TrangoLINK® Apex is its integration into a single all-outdoor unit (AOU).

The TrangoLINK® Apex is the only licensed microwave all-outdoor unit (AOU) on the market that features two data ports including an optical/fiber interface and a Gigabit Ethernet interface. It is also the industry's only AOU to feature Hitless Adaptive Modulation, a real-time RSSI LED display, and hot standby 1+1 link protection.

"With the introduction of TrangoLINK® Apex, Trango Broadband Wireless is taking a bold step to deliver the industry's best value and performance in licensed microwave backhaul solutions," said Zdravko Divjak, President and CEO of Trango Broadband Wireless. "With performance of up to 800 Mbps, availability in 6, 11, 18, and 23 GHz frequency bands, and expected integrator volume pricing of $8,000 per link, we are positioning Trango to become the clear leader in the industry."

"Our unique engineering expertise of more than 12 years in microwave, our domestic manufacturing capabilities, and sound financial structure, makes Trango the long-term reliable supplier-of-choice for our customers. TrangoLINK® Apex will begin shipping this May and we fully expect additional offerings in the 7/8 GHz, 13 GHz and 15 GHz frequencies to be available during 2008," said Mr. Divjak.

Trango will showcase the new TrangoLINK® Apex in booth 6152 at CTIA Wireless 2008, April 1-3, 2008 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Also being displayed at the CTIA show is TrangoLINK Giga®, Trango's split-architecture licensed microwave wireless backhaul solution, and TrangoLINK-45™ an unlicensed multi-band 5 GHz wireless backhaul.

With extremely low latency, TrangoLINK® Apex is perfect for delivering traffic for VoIP, video, online gaming, and other time-sensitive high-bandwidth services. It supports 99.999 percent service availability and is ideal for carrier/WiMAX/cellular backhaul networks, Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP), Enterprise/Campus wireless connectivity, broadcast, and Municipal/Government wireless applications, 3G/4G, as well as other mobile and fixed wireless applications.

TrangoLINK® Apex features Hitless Adaptive Modulation, in-band and out-of-band management, Automatic Transmit Power Control, and high spectral efficiency of up to 7.5 bits/Hz. It features the industry's only built-in digital LED readout that indicates radio signal strength (RSSI) in real-time, which greatly simplifies signal alignment during installation. The system utilizes Power-over-Ethernet using standard CAT5E cable and features an optical interface, copper interface, and a 10/100 BaseT management port, all protected within an all-weather housing. The new Trango system supports 802.1 prioritization, Quality of Service (QoS) features, port priority assignment (VLAN), jumbo packets, exceptional packets-per-second rates, as well as link protection features such as hot standby, link redundancy, and 1+1 switching. Network topologies supported include point-to-point, ring, star and mesh.
