DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - October 31, 2013) - Dave Paulsen, Chief Executive Officer of Transamerica Capital, Inc., said Transamerica remains dedicated to helping clients achieve their investment goals.

He said, "We are always searching for best-of-breed portfolio managers to join Transamerica's network of fund managers. Our industry position and relationships allow us to provide investors access to a diversified set of investment products led by world-class investment talent."

These funds include:

  • Transamerica Small Cap Core (SCCAX, SCCCX, ISMTX): A diversified fund that seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in stocks of companies with small market capitalizations which the fund's sub-adviser, Systematic Financial Management L.P., believes present opportunities for significant increases in value.
  • Transamerica Mid Cap Growth (MCGAX, MGTCX, IMCGX): The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation and may be appropriate for investors who are looking for a dynamic growth solution that invests primarily in stocks of medium-sized companies.

The fund's sub-adviser, Quantum Capital Management, seeks to invest in companies it believes have the potential to deliver earnings growth in excess of the market average, or become market leaders.

  • Transamerica Floating Rate (TFLAX, TFLCX, TFLIX): The fund seeks to achieve a high level of current income with capital appreciation as a secondary objective by investing at least 80% of its net assets in floating rate loans and floating rate debt securities.

The fund's sub-adviser, Aegon USA Investment Management, LLC (AUIM), selects investments based on fundamentals, sentiment and positioning, technical analysis, and valuations.

The funds will be available to retail and institutional investors through Class A, C, and I shares.

Small companies tend to have less experienced management, unpredictable earnings growth, and limited product lines, which can cause their share prices to fluctuate more than those of larger firms. The price of equity securities may rise of fall because of changes in the market or changes in a company's financial condition. Equities are subject to market risk, meaning that stock prices in general may decline over short or extended periods of time.

Interest rates may go up, causing the value of the fund's investments to decline. Changes in interest rates, the market's perception of the issuers and the creditworthiness of the issuers may significantly affect the value of a bond.

Investing in high-yield bond funds (junk bonds) may be subject to greater volatility and risks as the income derived from these securities is not guaranteed and may be unpredictable and the value of these securities tends to decline when interest rates increases.
