Transcontinental Wins Important National Awards for
Its Investor Relations

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 25, 2005) - Transcontinental
(TSX:TCL.SV.A)(TSX:TCL.MV.B) triumphed in two categories at the eighth
annual IR Magazine gala, the premiere Canadian investor relations
awards, held last night at Toronto's Royal York Hotel. First, Stephane
Milot, the Corporation's director of public and investor relations, won
Best Investor Relations Officer in the "Small Cap" category.
Transcontinental also tied with another major Canadian corporation for
the Best Use of Conferencing award, receiving the comment "Very
informative. Very open," from the many portfolio managers and financial
analysts surveyed to determine the award winners.

"This recognition shows just how committed Transcontinental is to
investor relations, and reflects our culture of transparency, integrity
and respect," said Luc Desjardins, Transcontinental's president and CEO.
"We have long recognized the importance of investors, with every
decision we make aimed at the well-being of our employees, customers and
shareholders, the three pillars of the Corporation. I especially want to
congratulate Stephane, whose tireless efforts have significantly
increased Transcontinental's profile with the investment community."

For his part, Stephane Milot, who has been with Transcontinental since
2001, said he is very pleased by the honour. "The emphasis
Transcontinental has put on developing investor relations is reflected
not only in these awards, but also in the very positive returns our
investors have enjoyed over the past number of years now," he said. "My
job is made that much easier - and more fun - by the rigorous finance
team that surrounds me, and by the collaboration and support of everyone
at head office and in our operations."
