Transplants Kick Off Vans Warped Tour as They Get Set to Release "Haunted Cities," June 21st

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 17, 2005 -- Transplants -- the celebrated group featuring Tim Armstrong, Rob Aston and Travis Barker -- are set to hit stores June 21st as they release their highly anticipated second album, "Haunted Cities." The album, the group's first for LaSalle/Atlantic, is the follow-up to their 2002 acclaimed self-titled debut, and features the breakout single, "Gangsters and Thugs."

"Haunted Cities" was produced by Tim Armstrong and features guest appearances by Boo-Yaa Tribe, Rakaa from Dilated Peoples, and B-Real and Sen Dog from Cypress Hill. Transplants recently hooked up with famed Houston rapper and mixmaster, Paul Wall, who "Chopped and Screwed" "Haunted Cities." This marks the first time that a rock album has been "Chopped and Screwed."

Transplants kick off the Vans Warped Tour this weekend in Columbus, OH, as one of the main headliners on the two-month cross-country summer tour that hits every major city before finishing up in Northampton, MA, on August 15th. The group will then head over to the UK for high-profile performances at both the Reading and Leeds festivals August 27th and 28th. Additionally, Transplants will make their late night television debut for this album on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Tuesday, July 5th, on ABC.

The video for "Gangsters and Thugs," directed by Estevan Oriol, is getting great exposure on Fuse and MTV2 while the entire Transplants album can be heard on's "The Leak" for the week leading up to album release.
