TransUnion Hosts Child Rescue Coalition's National Child Abuse Prevention Month Luncheon

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - April 16, 2015) - The Child Rescue Coalition is marking National Child Abuse Prevention Month today with a luncheon to highlight the charitable organization's activities to support law enforcement in the fight to prevent child exploitation. The event, hosted at TransUnion's Boca Raton office, features a keynote address by John Walsh of television's "America's Most Wanted" and "The Hunt."

The Child Rescue Coalition (CRC) supports the efforts of child exploitation investigators to track and arrest those who use the Internet to steal the innocence of children. In the last three years, the CRC has helped law enforcement rescue more than 1,000 children and make approximately 5,000 arrests worldwide.
"For more than a decade, the Child Rescue Coalition has supported law enforcement with the most advanced, comprehensive system in the world -- free of charge," said Carly Asher Yoost, president and founder of the Child Rescue Coalition. "Our system helps thousands of law enforcement officers in Florida, across the United States and in 55 countries around the world to help prevent child exploitation."

In addition to John Walsh's keynote address, remarks are planned by Aphrodite Jones, child advocate and host of "TRUE CRIMES with Aphrodite Jones" on ID (Investigation/Discovery). Several law enforcement officials also will be participating in the event, providing examples on how the combined efforts of law enforcement and the CRC have helped bring down criminals.

The luncheon is also part of a CRC fundraising drive to help the organization continue its efforts to support law enforcement. As part of the CRC's fundraising activities, TransUnion is donating $25,000 to continue its support of the organization. Organizations and other persons interested in supporting the CRC are encouraged to visit http://childrescuecoalition.org/contact-and-donate/.

"The combined efforts of TransUnion and the CRC is an excellent example of how data and technology can be used to protect our most vulnerable population and help uncover and bring justice to these horrific crimes," said Tim Martin, president of TransUnion's specialized risk business unit. "They are making a difference, but the problem is big -- and they need our help to do more."
