TransUnion's School Spirit Sweepstakes Won by Ventura, CA Man

TransUnion Awards Lucky School of Winner's Choice With $5,000 to Help Educate Students on the Financial ABCs

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Oct 17, 2013) - Today, TransUnion announced that Robert Hill of Ventura, CA has won the TransUnion School Spirit Sweepstakes and will nominate a K-12 school to receive $5,000 to help educate students on the financial ABCs.

The sweepstakes, launched August 26 on the TransUnion Facebook page, reminded consumers that with proper financial planning, they can lower the financial stress of having a child and focus on the joyful event. The TransUnion Facebook page also provided credit tips to all who visited the page. Nearly 2,000 individuals participated.

To enter the TransUnion School Spirit Sweepstakes, fans visited the TransUnion Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TransUnion, "Liked" the page and filled out the online entry form between August 26, 2013 and September 15, 2013. For every entry received, TransUnion added $2 to the grand prize bucket, up to $5,000. Hill was selected in a random drawing to nominate an eligible K-12 school to receive the prize to help them with educational materials and supplies. Each day from August 26 to September 15, a daily winner was also drawn and awarded with a $200 Apple giftcard.

"We are excited to award Robert's school of choice with the cash prize to help teachers demonstrate the basics of credit and money management," said Julie Springer, vice president at TransUnion responsible for consumer education. "Additionally, we recognized that the school year is filled with shuffling children to and from school and athletics and music rehearsals, and staying on top of your finances can be difficult for any parent. We hope that the winners of the daily iPhone prize are now able to better stay in touch with their children, and better stay on top of their credit with the new TransUnion mobile application."

"Thank you to TransUnion for giving your fans the opportunity to participate in such a fun sweepstakes and for helping local children learn the basics of personal finances," said Hill.
