Travel Advantage Network Employees and Wounded Warrior Project Raise Money for Nation's Injured Military

Local Company Takes Steps Each Month to Engage Employees and Charities

MILLERSVILLE, MD--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - Employees of Travel Advantage Network (TAN), a wholesale vacation accommodations program, raised $1,200 during a month-long fundraising effort for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

Inspired by a Wounded Warrior Project staff member he met on a flight from Florida, James Phillips, Human Resources Manager of Travel Advantage Network, was drawn to the organization's mission of "honoring and empowering wounded warriors." As a member of the human resources community and with family ties of his own in the military, James felt it important to give those who serve our country the skills and opportunities they need in the workplace.

"I felt honored to be a part of fundraising for such an important cause," elaborated Phillips. "Our company is incredibly grateful for the sacrifices the men and women of our United States military continue to make."

Chiefly encouraged by the company's president, Travel Advantage Network employees undertake a philanthropic initiative each month by campaigning for one of a diverse selection of charities. During the month of April, employees supported the Wounded Warrior Project with fundraising efforts featuring a pay-to-wear-jeans day, a 50/50 raffle, an Easter auction, as well as a lunch special with all proceeds going to the charity.
