"We can have clean, comfortable rooms, affordable rates and the best locations in the country. But these all mean nothing unless we have the right people. We need to be cognizant of always celebrating the one thing which sets us apart from our competition - Great people."

Another special award, named after the late Jane Crossen, whose passion for community involvement, overcoming adversity, and humanitarian efforts, was bestowed upon Mary Hamilton, a 35 year veteran with the brand, who received the honor to a standing ovation.

The conclusion of the awards ceremony included a presentation by Canadian Football League legend, Mike 'Pinball' Clemons. His story of perseverance was a fitting end to the evening, and set the stage for next year's conference in Vancouver, BC.
